I’m writing from across the pond over at Pretty Polly USA, New York, to wish you all a Happy 4th of July! (It's on Wednesday, but we're getting prepared already!)
Typically, I throw on a USA t-shirt and some jean shorts, but this year I am going to wow the crowd in some House of Holland Stars and Stripes tights! After seeing the Union Jack mania (seriously even in the States they're EVERYWHERE - we're so obsessed) I am ready to show my US patriotism! They're awesome right?
So no matter where in the world you are, these tights are for celebrating and wearing with pride! Even if you're not from the States they're an ultra-cool fashion statement.
What to wear them with
Experiment - wear yours with denim hotpants & white pumps (As the flag tights designer Henry Holland styled them) Or try a simple blue, red or white dress so the tights are the main feature of your outfit.
Stay tuned to Instagram and Twitter for images of the Independence Day celebrations. Happy 4th of July!!!

84 miles of rocky terrain and steep inclines in only THREE days...That's exactly what's in store for seventeen members of Pretty Polly HQ this weekend, as they take on the challenge of walking Hadrian's Way. Setting out bright and early today, the route begins in Bowness on Solway and ends in Newcastle on 2nd July - where we expect a few celebratory drinks may be had!
Our Head of IT, Bill Jarman commented, "It'll be a personal challenge for all of us, but also it's an opportunity to raise money for Rainbows".
Rainbows is the team's chosen charity and is the East Midlands' hospice for children & young people.
Team members are: Mark Campion; Mo Chebbout ; Charles Cruxon; Colin Draper; Stuart Gillott; Geoff Goodwin; Andy Gortynski; Mick Hollingworth; Ben Hollingworth; Jason Illingworth; Bill Jarman; Huw Jones; Andy McMahan; Michael Scott; Phil Sharrocks; Darren Twist; Steve Warriner.
Last year the team took on the mighty Three Peaks Challenge, battling through wind and rain to raise money for Dora's Library.
We wish the team heaps of luck for the challenge, let's hope the rain holds off!
If you'd like to help the team acheive their target and help a little in the great work that Rainbows Children's Hospice do, please visit the team's JustGiving site

Being based in Derbyshire, Pretty Polly welcomes the Olympic torch relay to the East midlands this evening! Although we've just heard it is running a little later than scheduled due to lightening in Mansfield earlier today.
We're particularly rooting for local torch bearer - Regina O'Reilly from Nottingham. Sadly, her dad died of bowel cancer 4 years ago. After successful fundraising events last year, Regina is now aiming to raise £2011 for Bowel Cancer UK, £2011 for The Irish Cancer Society and £2011 for Castleblayney Cancer Society (her hometown).
Regina has run 4 half marathons so far this year, preparing for the Nottingham half marathon and finishing with the Dublin marathon. So far, Regina has raised a fanatastic £4500 and is also planning on walking the Great Wall of China in October! Phew!
Good luck with the torch relay Regina! We hope it's back on schedule and the lightening (and rain!) stays away!
If you'd like to support Regina and her chosen charities please visit Regina's JustGiving page

Paris Hilton has fallen head over heels in love with suspender tights and rightly so...haven't we all? :)
Last night in Los Angeles, Paris Hilton went to the film premier of 'Sunset Strip: The Movie' - a movie about movie-land & Hollywood's famous road - the Sunset Strip.
Paris's Super Suspender tights were the perfect match for her black studded leather dress & lace-up cuff gloves.
This weekend Paris is DJing in Brazil at the Pop Music Festival, performing alonside Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson & Cobra Starship - we wonder if she'll be sporting more Pretty Polly's...!? We shall see!
If you fancy a pair of your very own House of Holland Suspender tights then your wish is our command...

You may remember we told you a few weeks ago about the World Tights Stretching Championships taking place in Boughton Monchelsea as part of their jubilee celebrations. You may be wondering 'just how far can one stretch a pair of tights?', well ponder no more - here's what happened on the day...
While waiting to take part, the contestants enjoyed having their photos taken with a giant Pretty Polly poster...!
The crowds flocked to Boughton Monchelsea on 4th June for a traditional village fete with something for everyone. There were a pet show and dog show, Morris dancing and martial arts, bouncy castles and welly wanging, a beer tent and burgers, stalls, sideshows and cream teas.
The headline event was the Boughton Monchelsea World Tights Stretching Championship which was won by Andrew Whybrow & John Whitenstall (pictured below left & centre) who stretched a pair of Pretty Polly 15 denier Ladder Resist Tights to 5.6m (18’5”)!!!
The World Record set by Duncan & Alex Robertson in 2000 still stands at an amazing 6.1m (20’).
The new Ladies World Champions are Carol Bagge and Sue Woodhams (5.45m) - pictured below right, and the Mixed Champions are Christina & James Lockhart (5.48m).
A great time was had by all!
